Some time ago we partnered up with the @GuitarWank podcast (read more about that here). It’s a great listen by monster guitar players Scott Henderson and Bruce Forman and hosted by Troy MacCubbin.

In April the guys at GuitarWank launched a competition and the winners could win some awesome guitar prizes. And one of the top prizes was a free license of our very own software! Anyone who bought a GuitarWank mug or t-shirt could send in a photo with it to make a chance of winning.
Needless to say a lot of creative entries made it to Troy’s inbox and the GuitarWank facebook page 🙂

Here’s the photo that won the free license of Riffmaster Pro – check it out!

It was taken by Corrado, a veterinarian from London (UK), who’s been playing the guitar since he was 7 years old! As you can see he’s not only a really experienced guitar player, but also a damn good photographer!

And look at the most exciting part of the photo – what a body! That beautiful, smooth, unique piece of wood is called “Koa” and apparently hails all the way from Hawaii. It was custom made in the US for Corrado himself and I think it’s amazing.

Corrado has been listening to the GuitarWank podcast since he first heard Scott Henderson talk about it on Tim and Pete’s Guitar show (you can check that out as well on Youtube) and is a great fan of it.

We definitely agree with him, because the podcast is not only just plain old fun (because the guys like to shoot the shit about all kinds of subjects), but it also brings up some topics that can help you make a better guitar player. Just in a recent podcast for example Bruce brought up the point that too many teachers focus on teaching the mechanics rather than on the creativity of playing an instrument. After all – ideally you’d want to be able to ‘hear and feel’ the music you’re playing (or want to play) rather than creating the notes with mechanical actions.

It’s why we love to keep recommending the podcast to everybody out there.

If you haven’t already done so – subscribe to it on iTunes, Overcast or Stitcher and enjoy!
